Pendant
In life we are always forced to face loss. It seems so inappropriate that the ones we love can be taken so suddenly from our lives. I have experienced this firsthand. Our family picked up a puppy from the pound 12 years ago. We named her "Goldie" because she was this most amazing golden retriever mutt mix with an amazing and loving personality. It seemed the instant I laid eyes on her that we were immediately bonded as if some amazing force of nature had driven us together. My son was just 3 years old and she took to him like he was a twin brother.
What a wonderful 12 years we have had together. Unfortunately tragedy struck last in January of 2005 and Goldie died of complications from cancer. We were all devastated. We had never had a pet before and this was our first close experience with loss. Even after she was gone my wife still said she heard Goldies joyful bark in the darkness.
I wanted her to feel that our Goldie was still somehow near. Since I am a jewelry designer I decided to create an eternal memory. I took some of Goldies ashes and sealed them in a Silver pendant that I created for my wife to wear close to her heart. Since then she has found some comfort in knowing that Goldie will always be close to her. I felt that since I could help my wife in this way, that I might be able to help others in some small way cope with their loss. So I have made my exclusive design available to the public.
